Five Photo Booth Props No Party Should Be Without

By Blog

It’s no secret that having a photo booth at your party takes the fun factor up to 11. How often, in our daily lives, do we get to play dress up? Nowhere near enough! There is something magical about putting on a wig, headdress, or foam finger that just lets us escape ourselves and have a ball.

A wedding photo booth, in particular, is one of the best ways to guarantee that your wedding pictures capture not only the beauty of the day, but the energy of it too. Props are integral to the party photo booth experience, and choosing which photo booth props to use can be almost as much fun as getting your picture taken. How to choose, though?

That’s a tough question. We’re always happy to compile an assortment of crowd-pleasing props, but if you’re interested in making specific recommendations we are thrilled to customize our photo booth props to suit your event. To get the ball rolling, here are some of our favorites:

1. Animal Heads

Who doesn’t dream of being an animal? Whether you want to inhabit the Planet of the Apes, channel the courage of a lion, or embrace your inner swine (Come on, you know you want a second piece of wedding cake.), animal heads are the way to do it. VidaBooth has a ton of ‘em, and they make some of the most fun photo booth props around.

2. Crowns

Everyone loves a royal wedding. But not everyone gets to attend a royal wedding—that is, of course, unless they hire VidaBooth to set up a party booth at their otherwise plebian affair. We come prepared with everything from tiaras to velvety crowns to pharaoh headdresses, making sure you and your guests get the chance to look the part of royalty. The results never disappoint. There’s just something about wearing a crown that gives people a touch of swagger that make the resulting photos look totally badass.

Bonus points: Combine a crown or headdress with an animal head to make an important political statement about wealth, power, and the transient nature of all things. Or just because it looks silly.

3. Glasses

Silly glasses of all shapes and sizes are a natural go-to for unleashing the freak within. There’s something about glasses that can transform an otherwise normal human—take, for example Superman, into someone totally crazy, like Clark Kent. Wait, we might have gotten that backwards. Who cares, though? The point is that glasses are a fun and simple way to add character to a photo booth photo. VidaBooth has a ton of different styles, too. Whether you want to nerd out, hippify yourself, or look as cool as Kanye West, we’ve got the frames to make it happen.

4. Weapons

Love is a good thing. Fun is a good thing too. But what if you find yourself at a wedding or a party and something makes you JUST SO ANGRY?! In that case, you should probably calm down and get yourself together—this is a party, tough guy. Pretending to be angry for the sake of a hilarious photo booth photo, though? That is another story, and we highly recommend it.

VidaBooth has a ton of seemingly violent props that paradoxically tend to bring people together to create some of the best photo booth photos ever. Using weapons as props often compels people to get creative and make little miniature scenes and stories that are really cool to look back on later on. So ask us about our stock of guns, boxing gloves, swords, and other (fake!) weapons—they’re some of the most creativity-inducing props out there.

5. Your Organization’s Paraphernalia

The thing about VidaBooth is that we want you to be happy. While we have a ton of children clients and we love them all equally, you’re our favorite. For this reason, we want you to know that we are more than happy to customize our props to fit your event. We’ve done everything from university-themed props to foam fingers that designate bride vs. groom. If you have an idea for a photo booth prop you want to see, talk to us about it. We’re here for you!

The most important thing to keep in mind is fun. Having a party photo booth is a fun thing. Props make it more fun. Yay, props! Yay, fun!

Ten Great Open Air Photo Booth Poses to Try at Your Next Event

By Blog

There’s nothing better than having a great photo booth at your wedding or special event. You and your guests are bound to have a night to remember — and those awesome photos will be on hand to constantly remind you! On the other hand, there’s nothing worse than getting all excited about jumping in front of the photo booth, only to completely freeze without any idea of what pose to strike. That ‘deer in the headlights’ look is not what you want, so it’s a good idea to start thinking about your favorite poses before you take the plunge.

Whether you’re sharing a romantic moment with your partner or being silly with your best friends, you’ve got to put your best foot forward if you want great pictures.

This guide to some of the most timeless open air photo booth poses will help you elevate your ‘snapshot game’ and create funny, ravishing, and magnificent pictures.

The Charlie’s Angels

You can’t discuss the best photo booth poses without mentioning the one that groups of ladies have been doing for decades. The Charlie’s Angels stance has gone down in history as one of the coolest and most kickass. All you have to do is stand with your backs pressed together and show off those guns.

A Kiss On The Cheek

An easy way to show some sweet affection to your best friend, close family member or partner in life is a quick kiss on the cheek.

The CramAsManyPeopleAsYouCanTogether

Ah, this is pretty much one of our most popular poses towards the end of the evening. Everyone wants a picture with all of their very best friends. Luckily, our photo booths have no walls so you’re free to cram as many people as you want into the frame.

Guns Out

Most guys can’t get in a photo booth without flexing their muscles, but it’s positively encouraged, especially if you’re having a laugh with the boys at a party. Show the ladies what you’re made of, by bringing your boys together and showing off those guns.

Three Wise Monkeys

Everyone loves a famous pose reenactment, so try and copy your favorite art. For example the Mona Lisa smile, The Scream or in this case the three wise monkeys. Remember the more poses you do the better.

The Lift

Lift your partner or give them a piggy back ride while the camera keeps on snapping the photos. If you’re one of the groomsmen, you can also work together to lift the groom up above your shoulders – safely of course! Have fun as you do this and let the camera do its job in capturing your genuine sweet smiles.

Off Duty Supermodels

Or, you could strike a pose better suited to the runway. Grab your girls and get your Vogue on. Stick your pout out as far as it will go – a la Kate Moss – and try your hand at being a catwalk queen.

The Jump

This one takes a bit of coordination, but the idea is to time a perfect jump right before the camera snaps a photo. It’ll capture you and your group in mid-air which almost always delivers an epic shot.

Dance Party

You’ve got multiple shots, show us your best dance moves! This works really well with our animated GIF option. In each shot, complete a different step of the Running Man, Lawnmower, Macarena, The Carlton, The Robot, Thriller, Harlem Shake, Gangnam Style, you get the idea.

The Fake Fight

This is one of the most fun photo booth poses to create, because it involves a little bit of theatrical skill. You need to make this one as over the top as possible. So, think wind up (cartoon style) fists, seeing stars, and dazed expressions. If there is more than three of you, pair up and each have a ‘mini’ scenario to yourself.

There you have it – ten great poses that you can use at your next event. Make sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter as we’ll be posting more great ideas!
